Alert message sent 02/05/2017 15:14:00

Information sent on behalf of Notts Police

May 2017
In April there were 3 burglary offences recorded in the Ward for the month. There was an attempted distraction burglary on Skipton Circus on 7/4 where three white males attempted to gain entry to the house by pretending to do some guttering work. There was a burglary in a shared accommodation house on Kingsley Rd on 8/4 and one on Lees Hill Street on 15/4 where the back door was kicked in.
There were 9 vehicle crimes in April.  The only pattern around these figures was 2 vehicles were broken into in the Milford Drive area on the same night – 13/4.  The other offences were spread throughout the Ward, with two being thefts from insecure vehicles. There were no robbery offences in April.
Please be aware of the recent increase in punishment for speeding offences and see the DVLA website for the specific detail. Speeding is one of the four major contributors to serious accidents. The Neighbourhood Team will continue to run speeding operations in the area, particularly as this is one of the major concerns identified to us by local residents
Last month the Sneinton Neighbourhood Team were involved in a police operation in St Anns and Sneinton involving the use of a passive drugs dog which could indicate the presence of drugs on people in the street. Overall the operation led to 2 arrests for drugs and another 9 drug seizures. There are plans for further operations of this type in the area.
