From Nottinghamshire County Council Trading Standards on the 09/05/2017.

We have had reports of a rogue trader cold calling in Nuthall offering to carry out roofing repairs.

In a recent incident a local resident initially agreed to a minor roofing repair but was then pressurised into paying a substantial cash sum for extra unnecessary work.

If you have been approached at your door by anyone offering to carry out roofing repairs or any other work please report this to Nottingham County Council's Trading Standards team via the Citizens Advice Consumer Service on 03454 04 05 06.

Any information that you provide can help us identify rogue traders and stop them from committing further crimes.

Trading Standards never recommend employing a trader based on a cold call.

If you are considering having work carried out on your property make sure that you get three quotes from reputable traders. To find local traders who have been audited and approved by Nottinghamshire County Council Trading Standards please visit
www.Checkatrade.com.
