Cold Calling Doorstep Fish Sellers

Alert message sent 01/02/2018 14:56:00

Information sent on behalf of Trading Standards

Nottinghamshire County Council Trading Standards Service have received several reports of doorstep fish sellers recently in the area.

Residents have been cold called and then overcharged and fraudulently misled into buying fish they didn't want or order. There are also concerns over the safety element of these products and we advise residents who have purchased fish to exercise caution if they decide to consume them. The perpetrators use a signed up vehicle with logos and wear long white coats.

Trading Standards are encouraging residents to refuse to buy these products and to make friends and relatives aware

If you have any recent information on this issue, or have been misled yourself please report it to the Citizens Advice Consumer Service on 03454 04 05 06.
