APPEAL: Police seek public's help after aggravated burglary in Rise Park

Police are appealing for witnesses and information after an aggravated burglary in Rise Park, Nottingham.

Four men wearing face coverings knocked on the door of an elderly couple's home on Dunvegan Drive before smashing a kitchen door window and gaining entry.

One of the offenders threatened the couple with a metal bar, keeping them in their living room while the other offenders searched the property.

The suspects left with a quantity of cash and jewellery.

The incident happened at about 6pm on Saturday (18 January 2020).

Detective Sergeant Lee Cattell, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: "Thankfully the victims were not injured during this frightening incident but they were left very distressed by what happened.

"This incident happened on a relatively busy road at 6pm when people may have been getting home from work.

"We're urging anyone who saw or heard anything around the time of the incident or any drivers who may have recorded dashcam footage to please get in touch with us.

"Any information you have, no matter how small, could be invaluable to our ongoing investigation."
