West Bridgford neighbourhood policing team have been conducting foot patrols in the Edwalton area this afternoon.  At 17:15 hours on Monday 23rd November 2020 a resident was visited at the door by a stranger seeking a cash deposit for a community lighting scheme.  The male was described as white six foot tall aged mid-twenties wearing a dark Berghaus fleece jacket, woolly hat, face mask and trainers. No cash was handed over as the caller hid his identification away and was not on display.  The resident told the person to leave and contacted police who attended and searched the area and visited the resident.

Further police enquiries are ongoing; incident 0565_23112020.

Please ensure to keep doors and windows locked and door chains on if answering to any unexpected callers. Always check ID and never agree to have any work done by someone who is just passing by.
