Report of a person impersonating a Trading Standards Officer

We have received a report of a male contacting a business and claiming to be a Trading Standards Officer.

Businesses should be aware that Trading Standards Officers will always provide their full name and a case reference when contacting individuals or businesses.

It is a criminal offence to impersonate a Trading Standards Officer.

If any business believe that they have experienced a male acting in a similar manner and claiming to be a Trading Standards Officer, please report it either to the Citizens Advice Consumer Service on 0808 223 1133 or to Nottinghamshire Police on 101.
