Op Reacher - Rushcliffe vehicle checks

Alert message sent 24/11/2021 16:31:00

Information sent on behalf of Notts Police

The Rushcliffe Op Reacher team were out conducting speed checks in and around West Bridgford and Rushcliffe villages following complaints from residents regarding speeding vehicles. Officers checked Musters Road, Melton Road, A60 Bunny amongst others locations. Officers gave words of advice / education where possible rather than prosecution, but despite this approach officers reported numerous drivers for speeding where their speeds were deemed excessive. Officers also had reason to seize one of the vehicles.

We encourage drivers to complete winter checks on their vehicles prior to driving to ensure they’re fully road-worthy, ensuring the tyres are correctly inflated as several checked today were dangerously low. Driving with incorrectly inflated tyres seriously effects grip and braking distances which is more apparent in the colder temperatures and can also lead to 3 points on your driving licence and a large fine.
