Information sent on behalf of Notts Police

Detectives are appealing for witnesses to an assault that left a 17-year old boy with stab wounds to his lower leg in the early hours of this morning.

Nottinghamshire Police were called just before 3.45am on Saturday 23 November 2019 to the incident on Abbey Bridge, Lenton, where it was reported that a vehicle pulled up alongside the boy before he was assaulted.

The victim was left with two stab wounds to his leg following the incident. He was taken to Nottingham’s Queen’s Medical Centre by police officers who responded to the incident. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-altering.

Detectives investigating the assault are now appealing to anyone who was in the area around the time of the attack to contact police, as officers continue their work to understand how the teenager came to be injured.

Our enquiries are ongoing into this incident, which we believe to be a targeted attack that poses no threat to the wider public.

These types of attack are absolutely unacceptable and we are appealing to anyone with any information about this incident to contact police to help our teams to identify those responsible.

Anyone with any information is asked to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 113 of 23 November 2019.
